Ottawa
On Sunday, November 23, 2025, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) held the Khalistan Referendum in Ottawa, Canada. Despite extreme cold, snow, and high winds, organizers reported a record turnout of 53,000+ votes — the largest single-day figure in the Canadian series. Voting ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Billings Estate National Historic Site (with overflow at McNabb Community Centre). Voters travelled from across Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec. The day ended with 1984 Sikh genocide commemorations. The Indian High Commission condemned the event as “farcical”; SFJ maintained it was a peaceful democratic exercise.
